JessicaJessica Ann Simpson Johnson, born on the 10th of July, 1980, is an American singer-actress, actress, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. Simpson who was just 17 years old at the time, began her singing career in choirs of the church. The singer was signed to Columbia Records in 1997. The album she released as her debut album, Sweet Kisses (1999) sold 2 million copies across the United States and saw the commercial success of the single "I I Want To Love You Forever". Simpson changed her look to be more mature on her sophomore studio album Irresistible (2001). The album's title track was her second number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) have certified it gold. This Skin (2003), Simpson's third studio album sold three million copies across the United States. Simpson was well-known for her romantic relationships with Nick Lachey and her marriage to Nick Lachey. Simpson also appeared on MTV's reality TV show Newlyweds, Nick and Jessica, between 2003 and 2005. After the release of her first Christmas album ReJoyce The Christmas Album (2004), which was certified gold, Simpson made her film debut as Daisy Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard (2005). As the soundtrack for the film, she also composed a cover version of "These Boots are Made for Walking" The year 2006 saw the release of her fifth studio album A Public Affair. She was also in the romantic comedy film The Employee of the Month. With the release her sixth studio album Do You Know (2008), Simpson moved into the country music genre. In addition to her musical endeavors, Simpson launched The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005, a fashion focused line that has 34 categories of merchandise. The brand is the most successful ever licensed by a celebrity that has more than $1 billion in sales to this point. Simpson was also a participant on The Price of Beauty, an upcoming reality show on television in the year 2010. She was also the judge for the clothes designs for Fashion Star 2 and 3. Simpson is married to Eric Johnson with whom she has three kids.
